CYCLING

Road

Three rides, from lakeside touring to a tougher mountain loop.

Switzerland · One way

58 km · 600 m ascent · Moderate

A lakeside touring stage via Nyon and Rolle. Expect some climbing through villages and vineyards rather than a completely flat shoreline ride.

Before you go
Mostly asphalt with about 1 km of natural surface. Plan a train return or a longer ride back. Open the official route map for the full itinerary.

Official route and map

Annemasse · France · Loop

56.4 km · 1,301 m ascent · Hard

A demanding ride over the Salève with views towards Lake Geneva. Start from Annemasse, not the top of the mountain.

Before you go
For confident road riders comfortable with sustained climbing and descents. Use the current GPX; older printed versions differ.

Route map and GPX

Annecy · France · Loop

42 km · Lake circuit

A scenic lake circuit combining cycle paths and roads. The tourism office recommends riding clockwise.

Before you go
Route interrupted: the tourism office reports a closure at Talloires from 14 September to 18 December 2026. Do not attempt the full loop during the closure; check updates before planning a ride.

CYCLING

Cross-country

Three published mountain-bike routes, from a short introduction to a full day in the Jura.

Servoz · France · Loop

4.3 km · 50 m ascent · Easy

A short loop from the Maison de l’Alpage to discover the castle ruins. A gentle introduction or an easy ride to combine with a longer day out.

Before you go
Free route, subject to snow and trail conditions. Use a mountain bike and follow the official route.

Route map and GPX

France · One way

11.6 km · 420 m ascent · Difficult

Via Les Bois, Le Lavancher and the Petit Balcon Nord. A more technical outing for riders with mountain-bike experience.

Before you go
Officially graded difficult. Plan your return separately and check seasonal trail access.

Route map and GPX

Vaud · Switzerland · One way

48 km · 880 m ascent · Medium

A full-day ride through Jura woodland and over the Col du Marchairuz, finishing down by Lake Geneva.

Before you go
Mixed asphalt, natural surfaces and singletrack; use a mountain bike. Arrange transport to Le Sentier and check the published route for closures.

Distances describe the published route, not the journey from Geneva. Check route conditions, surface and return transport before riding. Downhill lifts operate seasonally; choose a bike pass rather than a pedestrian ticket. Details checked September 2026. The links above go to official venue or tourism pages.
